ESP worked in partnership with Leeds John Moore’s University to research and report on the improvement in physical activity, as a result of the implementation of multi-skills activities in the school playground.
Prior research stated that 68% of a child’s PE lesson was spent stationary. We set to improve this but were keen to invest in exterior research to prove these improvements. So, in an experiment carried out across all primary school in South West Essex, we installed our own multi-skills concepts, followed by CPD training. The physical activity levels were monitored throughout and after the project and we where pleased to discover a 19% increase in physical activities since installation of the playground markings and accompanying CPD training.
