A simple SAQ football shooting drill for all ages. Amend the distances, amount of dribbling slaloms for your own groups to differentiate. Just a little idea for PE lessons and coaching sessions.
Why do coaches make children bend down and touch cones?
It’s for agility purposes (being able to change direction), eg. left then right etc. This is why it’s an SAQ (Speed, agility, quickness) practice.
In cricket we use it to emulate movements used within the sport. Eg. Fielding a ball, turning to run a secret no run between the wickets. I think it best to try and emulate the sport you are practicing as much as possible. In football I make the kids run around poles to emulate moving around a player
