I have had the pleasure of carrying out quite a number of PE department reviews over the last couple of years to help schools reflect on and improve their offer. Some of these have been triggered by a challenging Ofsted inspection, others have been a proactive process to improve that has been driven by senior leaders, subject leaders or both.
I think some of the best CPD comes from the chance to see and experience what PE looks like in a different context and hence I am making this ‘developmental faculty review toolkit’ available to download, edit and utilise as a peer to peer support tool. If you are part of a Multi-Academy Trust, School Sport Partnership or simply have a neighbouring school that you would like to exchange ideas with then I encourage you to utilise this paperwork to spend a productive day in each others’ school to pick up on what they do (and don’t do) before suggesting ideas for further improvement.
