I have used the idea of creating ‘GCSE Concept Maps’ for revision sessions.
The idea is that pupils are able to recap knowledge of topics – identify themes / define / explain. They are then challenged to link knowledge to other topics within the syllabus – this is brilliant for developing the ability to plan and write in depth answers within exams.
I have attached the starter (dependent on ability) and then a template I have used – it is quite simple really.
I have also used DUPLO (the toy) as a way to build this way of thinking – A great way to have a class discussion of a topic where you ‘Build Learning Towers’ – Corny …but very engaging. Feel free to comment below if you want me to go into this any further.
