The following course has been put together as a collaboration between leading Initial Teacher Education institutions to support the new government guidance and expectation around ‘mentor training’.

Before commencing this training we would like to thank you for all you do to support the next generation of teachers. We know how time consuming it is to support trainee teachers without the added workload of attending mentor meetings, training and briefings with your respective universities but this additional training is statutory AND we are confident it will arm you with the tools to carry out the role confidently and effectively.

By making this training asynchronous you can fit it in around your busy life of teaching, extra-curricular clubs and fixtures etc. There are discussion forums and short quizzes to check for understanding. You can choose to block out time and complete these modules in one go or as bitesize chunks. The system will remember where you have got up to and reward you with a unique certificate at the end, that you will be able to share with your partnership training provider as proof of completion.

We have framed the training around the governments 2016 Mentoring Standards whilst also considering the 2019 Core Content Framework.
