National Conference for Heads of Physical Education

Event Details

This conference is intended for current and aspiring Heads of secondary age Physical Education in schools of all types. It will present a range of contemporary material, alongside case studies of current best practice in different sectors, to enable programme leaders to ensure that PE is relevant and meaningful in their context. Current practitioners will be enabled to bridge the gap between research and practice. The day will provide a combination of inspirational keynotes, interactive workshops and opportunities to collaborate with other leaders of PE.

10.00AM – Introductory Keynote: Transforming your PE offer. Embedding a physical literacy informed PE curriculum, reflecting the Sport England consensus statement. Dr Liz Durden-Myers, PE Scholar

11.15AM – Refreshment Break

11.30AM – Ensuring PE offers a sense of belonging to all young people – exploring gender diversity, inclusion and social justice. Simon Scarborough
