About

Biography

Since qualifying as a teacher in 2011, I’ve built a career grounded in passion for Physical Education, leadership, and inclusive curriculum development. I began my journey in an inner-city school in Wolverhampton, where I spent five formative years teaching PE, mentoring PGCE students, and working as a Teaching & Learning Coach. It was during this time I also began my Master’s in Education.

In 2016, I relocated to Qatar and have since spent nine years teaching in international schools, taking on various leadership roles including House System Leader, Assistant Head of Sixth Form, and currently, Head of Secondary PE at Doha College. I also took a brief detour from teaching to explore entrepreneurship by starting my own business.

My passion lies in curriculum reform and creating inclusive, meaningful PE experiences. Leading a three-year curriculum transition at Doha College, I’ve worked to shift from traditional, sport-specific PE to a more conceptual, physically-literate model that engages all students—not just the highly competitive ones. These changes have been driven by a commitment to equity, student success, and long-term engagement in physical activity.

Along the way, setbacks have shaped my growth—from early knock-backs to the ongoing challenge of staying current with global PE research. My international experience has broadened my perspective, and becoming a parent has deepened my interest in early movement and the lifelong impact of quality PE.

I look forward to connecting with, discussing, and challenging ideas with others who share my passion for PE in my role as a PE Scholar Associate.
