| Biography |
Juliet is passionate about the power of physical education. With a career spanning over 25 years in physical education and youth sport, she is passionate about facilitating a culture in which children develop holistically through practice, have positive early experiences, and are inspired to independently seek out opportunities to be active in their own time. In her former roles as a primary school teacher, PE subject lead and sports coach, Juliet has always aimed to make a significant difference to children’s lives through PE, sport and physical activity. Previously, in her role as Southwest Regional Lead for British Triathlon, she contributed to the professional development of coaches working with children and young people. For the past five years, Juliet has worked as a Lecturer, teaching on undergraduate Physical Education and Sport Coaching, as well as Primary B.Ed. and PGCE programmes. She holds an MA in Coaching Children and Young People and is currently undertaking a PhD. Her doctoral research explores the influence of engaging pupils in the co-design of their physical education experiences. She is interested in the influence of co-design when used as a participatory, democratic and collaborative pedagogical approach for teaching primary PE.
