| Biography |
Michelle is pracademic with a passion for inspiring future teachers and supporting current industry professionals within Physical Education. Currently a senior lecturer in Physical Education at the University of Lincoln, and a teacher of PE – you read that correctly, that’s two roles in PE – Michelle offers a diverse and relevant skill set grounded in experiences within secondary and higher education. Michelle is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and her professional background includes teacher of PE, School Sport Coordinator, School Games Organiser, and University Lecturer.
Drawing from her own dance background, Michelle has a particular interest in curriculum dance and its place within PE. Using her knowledge and expertise, she is committed to empowering educators, both current and future, by enhancing their knowledge, skills, and confidence in teaching dance. Her consultancy work is dedicated to ensuring that dance remains meaningful, enjoyable, and impactful for young people.
As inclusion and adaptive practices continue to pose challenges in the PE landscape, Michelle remains deeply engaged in addressing them through her dual role. Her focus is on supporting students’ needs, preferences, and aspirations, striving to close gaps in training, attitudes, and practical experience.
A consistent thread throughout Michelle’s career has been her commitment to networking and collaboration to drive meaningful progress and innovation within the field of PE. As a PE scholar associate, Michelle aims to strengthen this approach even further.
