This short course has been funded by British Rowing. Enrol now to be one of just 500 teachers provided with free access to new enhanced resources.

British Rowing is the governing body for the sport of rowing across indoor rowing, coastal and on-water river rowing. They are committed to ensuring that the sport continues to thrive from the grassroots right up to winning medals at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
As part of the wider indoor rowing development work, British Rowing has helped create, with support by London Youth Rowing and written by PE Scholar, this fantastic new indoor rowing training suitable and ready for secondary school teachers to now access.

The course is designed to build your confidence, skills, knowledge and understanding to utilise indoor rowing as part of your PE programme. It includes an orientation around the new resources:

  • a focused indoor rowing unit of work,
  • a health and wellbeing unit of work that includes indoor rowers as part of the programme
  • ‘mix and match’ indoor rower activity cards
  • ‘mix and match’ warm up and cool down cards for use throughout your curriculum
  • ‘mix and match’ circuit training cards for use throughout your curriculum

Once enrolled you will retain access to materials to access anytime and anywhere you have a device and a WiFi signal. We will share tried and tested as well as some new ideas to help embed indoor rowing as a relevant and meaningful strand to your physical education programme … and you don’t need to be blessed with a suite full of rowing machines.

At the end of the course you will get access to download all materials developed. These include circuit training and warm-up/ cool down cards that we envisage becoming a core part of every PE teachers toolkit.

We encourage you to engage with discussion forums throughout the short course and to provide thorough feedback at the end of the course to support further developments in the future.
