Head Heart Hands Tracker 2.0

You say, we do! Tracking the progress of learners has never been easier. These Key Stage 3 progress trackers ensure easy access to the holistic learning journey of your students, and allow you to instantly generate PDF reports of individual students and whole cohorts at the push of a button.

These trackers are fully compatible with any previous version you have, so you will need to simply “Copy and Paste” the data from the “Input” table from your previous tracker into the new one to take advantage of the new features.

Versions of the tracker include:

  1. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond (with GCSE 1-9 scores and class rank)
  2. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond
  3. Emerging, Developing, Securing, Mastery
  4. Emerging, Acquiring, Developing, Securing, Thriving.

Tracker notes are including on the “PE SCHOLAR” tab but key info is:

  • The “input” table from the tracker you are using has not changed – so you will simply be able to copy and paste the data from your previous tracker into the new “Input” tab to take advantage of the new features.
  • All trackers now contain rapid PDF generator buttons. On the dashboard, you have a button to create a PDF report for an individual student, or a whole cohort (takes approx 3 mins for 250 students) – these will immediately appear in a folder on your desktop call “HHH Reports”
  • Please ensure your “Input” table in reordered A-Z (by student name) to ensure Dashboard works (a common problem on Excel 2016)
  • Some teachers found that the tracker did not work on Excel 2016 – all trackers are now 2016 compatible and work fully.
  • The “Analysis” Tab now has a “Update Data” button. Click on the pivot table and select the data you wish to view. Using the “Update Data” button will pull through all data into your pivot table.
  • The trackers contain a “Criteria”  tab where you can update the HHH criteria to your school’s own.

Please Note: This version reflects Jon Campbell’s personal interpretation of the Head‑Heart‑Hands assessment approach.

The original Head‑Heart‑Hands framework was developed by Andrew Frapwell of afTLC Ltd (2011) to offer a holistic model for curriculum design, delivery and assessment, bringing together the cognitive (Head), emotional/social (Heart), and physical (Hands) domains of learning.

Whilst widely cited and adapted, many derivative models diverge from Frapwell’s original and current conceptualisation. Although these adaptations may be useful in specific contexts, it’s important to acknowledge that they differ from and do not align with Frapwell’s approach. This version offers a very different perspective and should not be viewed as a direct extension of Frapwell’s work.
