Indoor Rowing Resource Development & Teacher Training

We are excited to announce that we will be working with British Rowing to enhance their indoor rowing materials for schools and provide a teacher training course to support delivery in more schools.

British Rowing is the governing body responsible for the participation development of rowing here in England as well as the training and selection of rowers to represent Great Britain. British Rowing is committed to ensuring the sport continues to thrive from the grassroots to elite level.

The sport delivers a national, fully inclusive indoor rowing programme called Go Row Indoor which is helping to get more people indoor rowing for fun, fitness, health, or competition. As a Sport England funded programme, this has been pivotal to the growth and further development opportunities for secondary education through the Go Row Indoor Schools offer.

The strategic vision for British Rowing ‘Rowing Everyone’s Sport’ (2021 – 2024) and the values that guide all of British Rowing work are:

  • Teamwork
  • Open to all
  • Commitment

This project

Our intention is to get new materials created and ready for you in time for next academic year (September 2022). To support us as we get busy creating, we would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions to enhance the resources and/ or teacher training opportunities. The hope is to make indoor rowing more accessible to more young people in more school settings across the country and the best way to achieve that is with your help.

If you have not previously accessed the existing materials, please visit the British Rowing website to sign up for free and take a look at what is already available to you here.

Our ask of you

Please complete this quick google survey to fuel us with your thoughts, ideas and requests to help ensure what is produced is of maximum benefit to you in your context. We really appreciate you taking the time to complete this form and will be reaching out to a few of you to consult further and form a focus group to support the development, there may even be an opportunity to feature as a part of it.

To ensure you are amongst the first to receive access to the enhanced resources and teacher training, please ensure you are signed up to the British Rowing portal above and/ or our PE Scholar newsletter by signing up with your name and email address via the link at the bottom of this page.
